Rental Cars

Hey all!

So I just reserved a rental car for the whole two weeks.  It only cost me 360.00 for 15 days! However, there are add-ons that I think will increase this price by as much as another 130.00.

Train tickets are available 3 months in advance, which means they are available now.  For the return trip at the end of the two weeks, we have to wait a few more days, but good to start thinking about it soon.

Our host is a massage therapist and will come to the house to give sessions upon request.  I have already alerted her that we will want at least a dozen session spread out amongst the group.  60 minute sessions appear to be 40.00!  And 90 minute sessions are 62.00!!! And from what I read in the reviews, she is a very good massage therapist. Yay!

Also, Henry will be joining us for the whole two weeks now!  I wasn't sure either of my children would be able to make it, so I am very excited to have one!

More soon.

Cheers

Kimberly

  1. Right. You need to be careful when renting a car in Europe. The price shown is often VERY cheap but does not include any insurance. This usually doubles the cost. Also, I strongly suggest getting the insurance directly from the rental agency (Avis, Europcar, Enterprise, whatever) and not from a third-pary site (like rentalcars.com). I had a problem in Italy when I reserved everything with a rental car website and then when I got to the agency to pick up the car, I found out that their "total coverage" was not valid with the actual rental car agency and I had to buy more insurance!

  2. All good advice, thanks ladies! We got a 5 seater from Hertz and it says pickup is at Avignon TVR so we'll see if a transfer to the other train station in Avignon is needed or not....
